About Me

All About Me!

My name is Jessica. I have lived in Utah or Idaho my whole life. I graduated from West Jordan High School where I was involved in the choir program and many other classes that I also enjoyed.  No one ever expected me to leave the small, close community that I grew up in to come to West Jordan for my senior year of High School. However I just felt like there was nothing left for me at my school, which focused more on athletics than academics. Don't get me wrong I love sports too. I played soccer in high school, but that was never my main focus. So it was a last minute thing and I made the biggest decision of my life so far to leave my friends and half of my family behind to make my life better by choosing to further my education that I couldn't have done at my old school.

My favorite color is purple (obviously!). I love just sitting at home watching cheesy romance films, reading a good book, and traveling. Soccer is my favorite sport. I love all types of flowers in all different colors. I am obsessed with jewelry and bling of all kinds! I recently found that I am rather good at doing hair for special occasions (prom/wedding) and I really enjoy it. I am also creative when it comes to decorating a party or reception. I am a sucker for the stars in the sky and a rainy day walk.

I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love my church! I was born into a strong, religious family whom I love dearly, yes even my almost 16 year old brother!

I am currently a nationally certified Phlebotomist. As weird as it may sound I find blood and its properties fascinating. I just got a job working as a Donor Floor Technician (DFT) at Octapharma Plasma Center. I absolutely love it!! And I am hoping that I will be able to be crossed trained as a Phlebotomist rather quickly.

So I kinda like this boy...we became really good friends in the middle of last year. He joined the Marine Corps right after graduating from high school. After he got home from basics he asked me on our first date. :) We had a blast! Two weeks and two dates later he had to go back to California for his SOI training. We were only friends at this point so it wasn't too hard to say goodbye. We had no contact other than writing while he was at basics but in SOI they were allowed to use their phones on the weekends. And without fail he texted me every weekend and skyped me twice during the 9 week training. Once he was home from SOI we dated and hung out with each other quite a bit.

Then, on my birthday, he received his mission call to the New Mexico, Farmington mission. And even though it was my birthday I was SO excited for him! He had six weeks to prepare and get everything ready. During those six weeks we got closer and closer. We loved spending time together and always had a hard time leaving when the time came. The day before he was set apart he came to my house and we hung out for the last time for two years. No, he never kissed me and honestly I'm kind of glad because that would have made this whole journey so much harder! He is such a good friend and I appreciate him very much and I am SO proud of him and the decision he made. So two years here we go!!
